David Highmark

Managing Director, Scottsdale

“The true test of a man’s character is what he does when no one is watching.” — John Wooden

David Highmark serves as Managing Director of Mosaic Wealth’s Scottsdale office, bringing more than four decades of experience advising individuals, families, and family-owned businesses.

He began his professional journey as a drafted athlete with the Baltimore Orioles following his junior year at Dartmouth College. A torn rotator cuff the following year brought his athletic career to an early close, after which he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Economics at Dartmouth and earned an MBA in Finance from Indiana University.

A native of Indianapolis, David started his career as a financial analyst at Eli Lilly before transitioning into banking. Over the course of 40 years, he built a distinguished career in wealth management with two highly regarded private banking institutions, Northern Trust and FineMark Bank. He served as President of Northern Trust in Southwest Florida and Arizona for 21 years, and later as President of FineMark in Arizona for 12 years, prior to joining Mosaic Wealth. At both institutions, he founded Professional Athlete Divisions that grew into some of the largest U.S.-based family office platforms serving professional athletes, ultimately advising more than 250 clients.

David has been deeply engaged in the communities in which he has lived, serving on more than two dozen nonprofit boards. Among his most meaningful contributions is the founding of Arizona Quest for Kids in 2000. This organization pairs adult mentors with fifth-grade students from Title I schools, supporting them through high school and providing scholarships for higher education. The program has achieved a nearly 100% college matriculation rate, often helping students become the first in their families to pursue higher education.

David has been married to his wife, Allison, for 45 years. Together, they have three children and ten grandchildren.
